Some people like to define themselves with a single keyword.
I have never quite found mine.
My life does not fit comfortably into one label.
在科研里,我寻找来自宇宙深处的微弱信号;
在旅途中,我收集陌生城市留下的坐标与记忆;
在运动场上,我依靠地图、速度和判断不断修正自己的方向。In research, I look for faint signals from deep space;
while traveling, I collect coordinates and memories left by unfamiliar cities;
in sports, I use maps, speed, and judgment to keep correcting my direction.
Later I realized that these things are, in some sense, the same thing.
I am always exploring the unknown.
场域Research
My research spans instrumentation, observation, and theory.
Not because my interests are scattered, but because many genuinely interesting questions do not belong to a single discipline.
Gravitational waves record the trembling of spacetime, radio telescopes receive the whispers of stellar remnants, and neutrinos and cosmic rays feel like anonymous letters crossing billions of years.
Rather than simply seeing the universe, I am more fascinated by listening to it.
I am working on several projects that may seem far apart: building source catalogs from DART survey data for future transient searches; studying the formation mechanisms of fast radio bursts (FRBs) and persistent radio sources (PRSs); examining the relation between FRB event rates and host-galaxy star formation histories; using SPHEREx to study metastable helium; tracing Galactic high-velocity clouds and gas circulation with WHAM and JWST; searching for new pulsars in FAST data; and exploring passive radar for space situational awareness.
These topics may look distant from one another.
But they point toward the same goal:
to identify signals in noise, and to ask where phenomena come from.
留白Life
Outside research, I like traveling.
Not to complete a checklist.
But to build my own coordinate system.
I like recording countries, provinces, and cities; I also like remembering airport announcements before dawn, hot food in unfamiliar convenience stores, chance conversations, and stories that could never have been planned. The travel page is designed as an expanding map rather than a completed album.
If I eventually finish the travel map, I hope it feels like a star map of memories.
Each point should mean more than arrival.
It should preserve an experience, an emotion, and a version of myself from that time.
律动Motion
I take sports seriously.
Because the body is a data system that does not lie.
Orienteering is one of my favorite sports.
Maps, route choice, spatial judgment, and speed control force you to make decisions with limited information. In a way, it is very similar to research.
I also enjoy track and field.
Sprinting trains explosiveness, long jump trains rhythm, and distance running trains patience.
PBs, total mileage, pace, and recovery time record not only performance, but also time itself.
Basketball, football, badminton, tennis, billiards, cycling, racing, golf... I would rather participate than only watch.
Because one of the best ways to understand a system is to enter it.
交织Interwoven
I am also drawn to questions that may seem a little off-topic.
For example, the search for extraterrestrial civilizations.
Or how civilizations might cooperate, compete, expand, and remain silent on cosmic scales.
These questions are often treated as science fiction.
But many important scientific questions began as ideas that once seemed far too remote.
I believe curiosity should not be defined by boundaries.
If I had to introduce myself in one sentence:
I search for signals across different scales.
从银河深处的一次射电脉冲,到近地轨道上的空间碎片;
从恒星死亡留下的回声,到文明留下的痕迹;
从地图上的未知检查点,到人生中的下一段旅程。From a radio pulse deep in the Galaxy to space debris in near-Earth orbit;
from the echoes left by stellar death to traces left by civilizations;
from an unknown checkpoint on a map to the next journey in life.
I am interested in the universe.
And I am interested in us within it.
